To commemorate the semiquincentennial of our Nation’s founding, this special one-year issue of the American Eagle Coin bears the dates “1776 ~ 2026” and a unique Liberty Bell privy mark with the numeral “250.” The obverse (heads) design features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ classic full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.

The reverse of each coin features a portrayal of a majestic eagle. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the face value and weight of each coin.
